The design of the criminal courthouse combines new construction with the adaptive reuse of the landmark Anaconda American Brass Company Building. The resulting complex presents an outstanding example of repurposing historic buildings into state-of-the-art judicial facilities. Great care was taken in design to avoid conflicts in architectural styles. The existing lobby of the Anaconda building was refurbished to look as stately as it did originally with its brass framed glass doors, marble walls and coffered vaulted ceilings. This design/build project was constructed on an aggressive fast-track schedule and completed two months ahead of schedule without any change orders.
