As part of the University’s goal to have adequate housing for 10,000 students, the University entered into an agreement with Signet Development to be a turnkey provider for delivery of a new 6-story, 533 bed apartment-style residence hall. This project includes multiple parcels of land adjacent to an existing apartment-style residence hall. The overall site was gently sloped, suggesting terracing and a building footprint that was compact enough to respond favorably to site conditions. The student housing complex has three basic unit types: four single bedroom flats, with living/dining, a full kitchen and two compartmentalized bathrooms; a two single bedroom flat that is a modification of the four single bedroom unit; and a two single bedroom suite.
