JCJ Architecture was commissioned to provide design services for this casino card room located in the heart of Hawaiian Gardens, California. The existing 60,000 square foot facility was in a temporary sprung structure, however the incredible growth of their business led to the need for expansion and a more permanent facility.

The overall program for the new casino includes an exciting gaming and entertainment experience that includes a gaming floor to support 300 tables, a high limit gaming lounge, and multiple food and beverage outlets. The project also includes back of house offices, employee support and casino operation spaces, and an extensive multi-line kitchen that provides a wide range of menu options, served table-side to casino patrons. The second floor shell space provides poker tournament, banquet and conference facilities, as well as additional office space. In order to prevent any downtime in the casino operations, the project was master planned to preserve access to the existing facility during construction while maintaining large areas of convenient parking. Construction was completed in phases allowing a seamless transition from the existing to new facility, followed by the demolition of the sprung structure and the completion of the site development.

Designed as a modern fusion of the Hawaiian architectural style and tropical garden motif, the new casino provides patrons with a unique gaming experience, highlighted by state-of-the-art audio and video infrastructure. Exterior site features including lush landscaping water features and contemporary Hawaiian architectural detailing are carried to the interior of the building creating a unified and seamless experience. The interior design is accented with wood ceiling and wall detailing and highlighted by a center spine in the gaming floor that features food and beverage outlets and high limit gaming which can be viewed from any vantage point in the facility.
