The new Hartford Public Safety Complex is at the center of significant and historic transformations for the City of Hartford: the project marks the renewal of a 6 acre parcel as part of a larger 26 acre redevelopment in Hartford’s New Park initiative; it represents the first time the City’s police, fire and emergency services have been combined into one location; and it forms a strong link between the Central Business District to this historic North Hartford neighborhood.
Located in two distinct buildings, and connected through internal circulation, police, fire and emergency service each have their own identity. While each functions independently, this co-location facilitates the connection and collaboration between the departments. The complex includes a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center that will become the City’s main hub of information and decision making during any man-made or natural emergency.
